Small Aurora Basket

The Small Aurora Basket is the perfect container for treasures or a decorative accent for your desk or table. Mayan Hands artisans created this basket with sustainably harvested native grass and fragrant pine needles with colorful yarn accents. This beautiful basket is named "aurora," the Spanish word for dawn, for the first light of sunrise when Mayan women rise to prepare tortillas for their families. Mayan Hands is a fair trade nonprofit organization dedicated to providing economic and educational opportunities to more than 200 of their women artisans in fifteen communities in the Guatemalan Highlands. Through your fair trade purchase of their fine handmade products, you too are connected to our remarkable artisan partners and support their quest to keep their rich cultural traditions alive. Fair-trade. Measures 5 x 2.25 in.
